Metsähallitus’ Code of Conduct contains our key principles for responsible and ethical operation. We are strongly committed to these principles and comply with them in everything we do.
The Code of Conduct is based on our values – effectiveness, relevance and care – which are realised through all of our operations. By acting in compliance with the principles of the Code of Conduct, we implement responsibility. Simultaneously, we demonstrate our trustworthiness as a partner to our interest groups.
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to guide Metsähallitus’ employees in choosing the right way to act. It provides employees with instructions on implementing the ethical and responsible approach through their duties.
Our objective of consistent development
Metsähallitus’ most essential way to implement the Code of Conduct is to promote an open and transparent organisation culture which engages in a consistent discussion on ethical and responsible operating methods. Everyone has the opportunity to participate in defining and developing our common and right operating methods.
The Code of Conduct is part of the process of ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements which is monitored regularly with the intention of promoting continuous development.
Report suspected abuses related to our activities
Everyone can report any suspected abuses related to Metsähallitus’ activities – anything that is inconsistent with the responsible and ethical principles set out in our Code of Conduct. To ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, we offer a whistleblowing channel with which employees can report inconsistencies with their name or anonymously.
It is vital for us to be able to intervene in any shortcomings and improve our activities.
