Herva, Ii
Herva is a large site under development in Northern Ostrobothnia, located in close proximity to Fingrid’s 400 kV substation. Due to its location and energy infrastructure, the area offers strong preconditions for energy‑intensive industrial operations, and zoning for the site is currently underway.

Area description
Project Herva consists of 88-hectare area located about 25 km from Ii and 50 km from Oulu, with the nearest residential area 50 m from the site.
The project area zoning process (master plan) is underway.
The closest 400 kV substation (Herva) is located about 200 m away from the site. Herva substation has ~500 MW available capacity which is expected to be available in 2027, but there are several competing projects in the area. Further discussions with Fingrid are required to confirm the status of the grid availability. Once grid availability is confirmed, the grid connection agreement could already be available for signing in 2026.
Yli-Olhava, Ollinkorpi and Iso-Heposuo wind projects located less than 10 km from the site.
