Restoration Camps for Volunteers during the Light & Fire LIFE Project
The project invluded volunteer camps in 2015–2019 on six Natura 2000 sites in the coastal area and archipelagos of Southern Finland and Ostrobothnia.
On each camp, volunteers spended 3–8 days restoring coastal meadows, heathland and dunes for example by removing junipers and other bushes, burning cut trees and bushes and eradicating Rugosa rose, an ecologically damaging alien species.
The organisers provided instructions, tools, food and beverages and boat rides to the islands.
The volunteer camps were arranged together with WWF Finland.
