Excursionmap.fi service uppgraded

Upgraded Excursionmap.fi map service now available

A new version of the popular Metsähallitus Excursionmap.fi map service is now available. Excursionmap.fi is a map service by Metsähallitus designed to provide accurate maps for anyone planning a recreational nature excursion. The new features include the layout and placement of function menus as well as the place name search and ease of viewing the available information.

The Excursionmap.fi service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English, allowing you to search for national parks, state-owned hiking areas and wilderness areas in Lapland, in addition to the huts, lean-to shelters, campfire sites and other hiking services available at the destinations. Hiking trails are also marked on the maps. The destination information available in the map service includes a link to a description of the destination on the Metsähallitus Outdoors.fi web service. In turn, the destination map page at Outdoors.fi offers an easy link to the more accurate corresponding map at Excursionmap.fi.
