Cross-Border Co-operation of National Parks of Bothnian Bay 1.6.2013 – 31.5.2014
Goals of the project were:
- To share information and best practices between managers of the national parks in various fields of work (e.g. protection of natural and cultural heritage, inventory methods and management practices of natural and cultural heritage in protected areas, visitor services)
- To draw up a feasibility study for joint visitor services
- To form a joint vision for the future co-operation actions
The project was coordinated by Metsähallitus, Natural Heritage Services Ostrobothnia. The city of Haparanda, Sweden is the main partner in the project. Other involved parties were the city of Tornio, Finland, and County Administrative Board of Norrbotten, Sweden.
The project's total budget was 64 500 euros. The project was funded by Interreg IVA Nord and the participating organisations and municipalities.
