Marine conservation is considered a priority at the moment by many countries. We are looking for international partners who have the knowledge and know-how we need for conservation in Finland’s territories. Marine biology activities which Metsähallitus is involved in include joint projects with partners in Sweden, Russia and Estonia, HELCOM projects in the Baltic, or cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers, the European Union or the IUCN.
Metsähallitus also has bilateral cooperation agreements with the Forestry Department of Hunan Province in China as well as with South Korea’s National Park Service.
