 Team Work

The concepts behind Metsähallitus’ management system are management-by-results and team work.

Team work means that all employees are involved in the development of their work and work community. This way, the personnel’s own expertise in their tasks and communities may be optimally utilised.

A team typically consists of a small number of people whose skills and competencies complement each other. Each team member is committed to, and holds him- or herself responsible for, the common objectives and goals. In a well-functioning team, the members are also able to support the learning and professional development of their colleagues.

One of the five Metsähallitus values, in support of team work, is “results through co-operation”. It is our goal that all employees work for a united Metsähallitus. On the other hand, we also strive to be active and open with our external stakeholders, and we believe that co-operation with those around us will yield the best results.
