Interaction as an Operating Philosophy
Metsähallitus aims for openness and interaction in all its operations. Various interactive methods of operation are an essential part of, for example, land and water use planning.
Representatives from hundreds of organisations have participated in regional co-operation groups for natural resource planning, among others. Metsähallitus also organises a number of civil meetings, where activities and future projects are discussed. The meetings are also an opportunity for the local inhabitants to comment on those activities. Feedback can also be submitted via this website by using the feedback link (Feedback).
Through interactive operations, more information about our operating environment can be acquired and possible conflicts can be prevented. Metsähallitus’ network of stakeholders is very wide, extending from local clubs for nature enthusiasts and village committees to Parliament and global forest industry organisations. Metsähallitus also participates extensively in the operations of international industry organisations and working groups. In addition, Metsähallitus has signed co-operation agreements with forest organisations from various countries.
